Nature Hostile

Dolphin Slaughter in Taiji, Japan

The pictures and video above exemplify the "nature hostility" we discussed in class perfectly. Whether it be running over snakes and spiders with our cars, killing and stuffing large mammals, or cornering and methodically slaughtering dolphins it is clear that across the globe humans (men typically) feel the need to dominate nature in all of its forms. And although some of these actions may stem from instinctive dangers (snakes and spiders) it is clear that mankind currently has a tendency to clash with nature rather than coexist alongside it. With any luck though, we can change this paradigm and design our cities and homes with foresight and respect for nature.
